PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily operate a machine tool, a production machine, or a machine formed as a robot. SOLUTION: An operation device 1 for operating a machine has a display 2. A first operation window 3a and a second operation window 3b can be visualized by the display 2 simultaneously. A first application 4a for operating a machine can be visualized in the first operation window 3a, and a second application 4b for operating a machine can be visualized in the second operation window 3b. The operation of the first application 4a is performed with the use of a first operation key 5a that belongs to the first operation window 3a, and the operation of the second application 4b is performed with the use of a second operation key 5b that belongs to the second operation window 3b. The first operation key 5a is disposed laterally to one or more than one sides of the first operation window 3a, and the second operation key 5b is disposed laterally to one or more than one sides of the second operation window 3b.
