The ventilation device (1) has an air suction opening (RL), a heat exchanger used as a regenerator/storage device, a fan and an air outlet opening (FL). The air suction opening and the air outlet opening have further associated openings and each opening has a changeover flap (URL, UZL) that can be adjusted by a controller so that when the air suction flap is open the air outlet opening is open and with the further air suction opening open the further air outlet opening is open.
