PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength selection switch which does not use an MEMS mirror. SOLUTION: The wavelength selection switch has: an input side board (10) including an array waveguide diffraction grating which corresponds to an input port and splits an optical signal made incident on the input port into a plurality of optical signals with mutually different wavelengths and emits them with emission angles corresponding to respective wavelengths; an output side board (10') including array waveguide diffraction gratings respectively corresponding to output ports; a lens (40) to condense optical signals split with the array waveguide diffraction gratings for each wavelength, respectively; and one input two output liquid crystal switches (700, 800) to switch respective condensed optical signals in the direction vertical to the board surface of the input side board.
