PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system of high convenience. SOLUTION: This navigation system 1 having a display section (display panel) 3 for overlapping and displaying the current position and a map on a system main body 2 includes an operation section 4 arranged along an edge of the display section 3, a clocking section 5 for clocking the pressing period when the operation section 4 is pressed, operation selecting mean 8 for selecting a first operation when the pressing period clocked by the clocking section 5 does not reach a predetermined period and selecting a second operation when the pressing period clocked by the clocking section 5 reaches the predetermined period, and map moving means 8 for moving the map displayed on the display section 3 in a predetermined direction according to an installation position of the operation section 4 when the first operation or second operation is performed.
