RESIN COMPOSITION FOR FORMING LOW REFRACTIVE INDEX FILM, LOW REFRACTIVE INDEX FILM, AND REFLECTION-PREVENTING SUBSTRATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition which can form a low refractive index film, while having high surface strength and having low refractive indexes.

SOLUTION: The resin composition for forming a low refractive index film comprises low refractive index particles and a matrix molding material and is characterized in that the low refractive index particles are meso porous silica fine particles prepared by: cohydrolyzing a tetraalkoxysilane and alkoxysilane having an amino group in the presence of an alkali in a mixture liquid comprising a tetraalkoxysilane, the alkoxysilane having the amino group, a quaternary ammonium salt cationic surfactant, a polyhydric alcohol having two or more hydroxyl groups, and water, to produce spherical silica nano particles having meso pores on the surface; and then extracting the quaternary ammonium salt cationic surfactant from the particles in an acid solution.
