<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spout mounting device capable of holding a spout to be fitted to a bung hole of a container, bringing it to a predetermined place, and fitting it to the hole without causing spout deformation, flange exfoliation, and/or container deformation, and without causing break of a thin film to block the cylindrical portion of the bung hole. <P>SOLUTION: The spout mounting device is built so that a spout 6 having a cylindrical portion 3 and a flange portion 4 is pushed into a hole of a container from the inside of the container toward the outside with the flange portion 4 in contact with the inner wall of the container. A mandrel 13 is provided to guide the spout 6 into the container and fit the spout 6 to the hole, making the flange portion 4 in contact with the inner wall of the container. The mandrel is equipped with a projected receiver 14 to be fitted into the cylindrical portion 3 from the flange portion 4 side to hold the spout 6. The front of the projected receiver 14 is shaped circular so that its circumference frictionally engages with the inside of the cylindrical portion 3.
