PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform imaging of a sample by utilizing a common program even when constitution of a motor unit is different. SOLUTION: A motor-driven microscope includes: an image pickup apparatus for performing imaging of the sample; several motor units for operating various kinds of mobile parts of the microscope in order to prepare imaging of the sample by the image pickup apparatus; a registering means for registering operation information to each of several motor units and control information indicating control sequence of several motor units and image pickup apparatus into a recipe; a control means for controlling operation of the several motor units and the image pickup apparatus based on the control information and the operation information registered in the recipe of the registering means; and a control content abbreviating means for abbreviating operation control of the control content in the control means when the control content not corresponding to any of the several motor units is contained as the control information registered in the recipe.
