LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

A liquid crystal display device is provided to improve display quality by removing a vertical line defect due to a black matrix in an upper part of a thin film transistor by forming the thin film transistor alternatively based on a gate line. A horizontal/vertical pixel column composed of a plurality of pixels is defined in a first substrate(101). A plurality of gate lines(GL1-GLn) driving the two horizontal pixel columns are formed in the two horizontal pixel columns of the first substrate. Two data lines in the vertical pixel columns of the first substrate cross the gate line. A thin film transistor(102) is formed in a cross point of one gate line and one data line of each pixel.
