A sewing machine is provided to shorten the length of a needle and thread which is protruded to the outer side of the fabric in a starting part of a stitching unit. A sewing machine includes a supplying unit of a needle and thread, a needle bar(7), a hook(10), a thread lever(18), a first clamp of the needle and thread and a tension unit, a second clamp and a tension device. A needle bar includes a sewing needle(8) guiding the needle and thread through fabric. A hook fastens the needle and thread in a stitch forming process. A thread lever forms a loop of the needle and thread.
