<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cap for an airtight container which maintains opening torque at a high value above a certain level using a screw type cap for maintaining a moisture-proof characteristic above a certain level. <P>SOLUTION: The inner peripheral side tube area 33 including a screw thread part 311 on the peripheral wall 31a of a screw type cap 3a, which is screw-threaded with a screw thread part 211 of the opening 21 of a high density polyethylene container body 2 for closing, is made of a lubricant blended resin made by blending a small amount of lubricant into high density polyethylene. Parts 32, 34 excluding the part 33 are formed into two-layers of the high density polyethylene the same material used for the container body.
