OCCUPANT PROTECTION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant protection device capable of preventing the occurrence of the phenomenon applying excessive load generated by an expansion fluid to a part in the vicinity of and above an expansion fluid generating source in an airbag.

SOLUTION: This occupant protection device is constituted by arranging the airbag 40 in a seating part of a seat for vehicle and inflating the airbag 40 by high pressure expansion gas G jetted from an inflater 61 to raise a seating face of the seating part in order to restrain an occupant on the seating part from moving forward. The airbag 40 is constituted by an airbag body 41 for raising the seating face by inflation and an inner bag 71 arranged in the airbag body 41 while the inflater 61 is wrapped and having the dimension H2 in the vertical direction when inflated being smaller than the dimension H1 in the vertical direction of the airbag body 41 when inflated. The inner bag 71 is provided with a discharge hole 79 for discharging the expansion gas G into a rear part of the airbag body 41 from the inflater 61.
