PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To block a drop in players' interests in the variation of symbols. SOLUTION: During one variable display of special symbols for displaying the result of a win/loss lottery, a pattern holding means keeps decoration symbols half stopped temporarily displaying them looking as if stopped to hold the first pseudo successive variation pattern and the second pseudo successive variation pattern in which false successively varied performance is displayed to make the decoration symbols falsely look as if variably displayed more than once. The first and second pseudo successive variation patterns have the performance process in common until the decoration symbols are half stopped while the half stoppage mode as those of the decoration symbols half stopped are made different from each other. The performance processes after the decoration symbols are half stopped are also made different from each other. The performance decision means selects the first or second pseudo successive variation pattern so as to make the degree of reliability when the first pseudo successive variation pattern is chosen higher than that when the second pseudo successive variation pattern is chosen.
