PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file transfer device and method capable of performing processing according to a confidential level at a transmitting destination of a file to confidential information based on the confidential level of the confidential information included in the file. SOLUTION: The file transfer device 1 transmits the file to the transmitting destination, and solves the above problem by providing: a confidential information decision means for deciding whether the confidential information is included in the file based on confidential information decision data 12; a file duplication means for duplicating the file by the number of transmitting destinations of the file based on the confidential level of the confidential information when the confidential information is included in the file; a confidential information masking means for performing mask processing to the confidential information included in the duplicated file based on the confidential information of the transmitting destinations of the file; and a file transmitting means for transmitting the mask processed files to the transmitting destinations.
