PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve accurate identification even when the posture of an identification object is changed in the case of identifying the identification object having a hue change area wherein a hue is changed according to a visual angle. SOLUTION: The print identification apparatus comprises: an illumination part 12 for irradiating a hue change area 11 with light; a prism 14 arranged on a position including a regular reflection area of light irradiated by the illumination part 12 from the hue change area 11 and capable of dividing reflected light from the hue change area 11 into two or more wavelength areas; a plurality of light receiving parts 13 for receiving light branched by the prism 14; and an identification processing part 17 for identifying the identification object on the basis of outputs from the light receiving parts 13. The identification processing part 17 comprises a recording part for recording reference light distribution for a posture change of a reference discrimination object, a correction means for correcting identification reference in the posture change of the identification object 1 by comparing light distribution with the reference light distribution, and an identification means for identifying the identification object on the basis of the identification reference corrected by the correction means and the light distribution.
