<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for performing proper filtering processing to a pixel signal without letting noise removal processing or edge emphasis processing exert any adverse influence on each other. <P>SOLUTION: A correlation decision part 32 decides the correlating direction of each pixel. When the correlating direction of a pixel under consideration is a vertical direction and the correlation of the other direction is small, it is decided that the pixel under consideration is a pixel on an edge in a vertical direction. Then, as for the pixel under consideration, noise removal filtering processing is executed by using a pixel on a line in the vertical direction, and edge emphasis processing is performed by using a pixel on a line in a horizontal direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
