PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drinking water dispenser having a drain pipe through which superfluously supplied water from a bottle into a tank is exactly discharged to the outside. SOLUTION: The drinking water dispenser 1 has the drain pipe 13 through which the superfluously supplied water from the bottle 4 into the tank due to damage or the like of the bottle 4 is discharged to the outside by water pressure in the bottle 4. The drain pipe 13 has the lower end 13a with an opening at a predetermined position upward of the lower end of a probe 6 in the tank 3, rises from the lower end 13a to a predetermined position upward of the opening of the tank 3, bends sideways from that position to extend outward, and has the other end connected to a water receiving member. The tank 3 communicates with the open air through a ventilation passage 9c having a cross-sectional area small enough to give a flow resistance larger than a predetermined value. When the bottle 4 is damaged to cause water to come superfluously into the tank 3 to raise the water level to the upper side above the lower end 13a of the drain pipe 13, the increased air pressure in the tank 3 pushes up the superfluous water to the drain pipe 13 to discharge the superfluous water to the outside of the tank 3 through the drain pipe 13.
