Techniques for managing annotation transformations are described. An apparatus may include a processor coupled to memory. The memory may store a shared application manager (SAM) module for execution by the processor. The SAM module may comprise a client user interface component operative to generate a shared application view for a shared application object. The SAM module may also include an annotations manager operative to associate an annotation object with the shared application object, detect a change in context for the shared application view, and transform the annotation object in accordance with the context change.
