<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag and an airbag device capable of reducing a pressure loss while the airbag is being inflated and deployed, and capable of efficiently exhibiting shock absorbing power of the airbag device according to physical features of an occupant. <P>SOLUTION: This airbag device has a gas generator 1 generating gas under a predetermined condition, the airbag 2 connected to the gas generator 1 so that it is inflated and deployed, and a retainer 3 for housing the airbag 2. The airbag 2 has bulges 4 forming externally protruded portions at a portion of the airbag 2, vent holes 5 formed in the bulges 4, straps 6 connected at their one-ends to the bulges 4 and at their other ends to the inside of the airbag 2, and insertion holes 7 for guiding the other ends of the straps 6 into the inside of the airbag 2. The vent holes 5 are arranged in the bulges 4 of an area where the bulges 4 and the airbag 2 do not overlap when the bulges 4 are pulled by the straps 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
