<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify a mutated neublastin having prolonged bioavailability. <P>SOLUTION: A mutated neublastin polypeptide suitable for formation of a conjugate comprising the mutated neublastin polypeptide coupled to a polymer containing a polyalkylene glycol moiety is provided. The conjugate has prolonged bioavailability and, in a preferred embodiment, has prolonged biological activity relative to neublastin of non-modified form or neublastin of wild-type form.
