PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To be able to report an existence of the optimal alternate route, when the optimal route is further available from sections that is not searched for. SOLUTION: The system includes a route history storing means 58 for storing the start point, the arrival point of a route from the arbitrary start point to the arrival point, without having to search for routes by using a traffic function, and each route of the migration routes between the start point and the arrival point, and a point extracting means 59 for extracting the start point and the arrival point from migration routes stored in the route history storing means 58. When instructions for searching comparison routes are provided from a comparison route search instructing means 62, the point-extracting means 59 extracts the start point and the arrival point from the route history stored in the route history storing means 58. A route search means 52 searches for the optimal route between the start point and the arrival point extracted, by referring to map data as a guide route. A route comparison means 60 reports the existence of the guide route, when the guide route is compared with the corresponding route history and when the guide route is a more advantageous route than the route history.
