PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilization filter, which can be simply attached to ventilation equipment of a general house, an office or the like and inactivate bacteria or viruses contained in air. SOLUTION: This sterilization filter is produced by immersing a nonwoven fabric in polyvinyl alcohol modified with a carboxylic acid, coating the fabric with an ion exchange resin, heating the fabric to solidify carboxylic acid-modified polyvinyl alcohol, and thus integrating the solidified carboxylic acid-modified polyvinyl alcohol and the ion exchange resin with the fabric. The thus produced filter has air permeability and inactivates bacteria and viruses in air. Moreover, the ion exchange resin does not come off from the filter, so that the filter can maintain its effects for a long time. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
