PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas-shielded arc welding method, in which a preceding electrode is subjected to a stringer manipulation and a succeeding electrode is subjected to high-speed rotation or high-speed oscillation, thereby the full-penetration welding can be applied without causing any high-temperature cracking of a narrow-gap joint and any insufficient penetration of a bevel root part, and the copying control by an arc sensor is made possible. SOLUTION: In the gas-shielded metal arc welding method, the root pass of a narrow gap joint is applied while forming one molten pool 15 by a preceding electrode 11 and a succeeding electrode 12 arranged at a predetermined spacing before and behind the welding advancing direction. In the preceding electrode, a torch manipulation is a stringer manipulation, and the target position is at a bevel root. In the succeeding electrode, the torch manipulation is high-speed rotation or high-speed oscillation, and the weld line copying control is performed by arc sensor signals of the preceding electrode and the succeeding electrode.
