PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum type washing machine which does not require a large space for installation. SOLUTION: The drum type washing machine includes a rotatable washing drum having a horizontal, rotating axis line, an outer chamber having the washing drum in the inside for accumulating washing water, an outer frame casing body having the outer chamber in the inside, and a vibration control supporting means for supporting the outer chamber to control vibrations in the outer frame casing body. The outer frame casing body has a main body part of the casing body and a base part for supporting the main body part of the casing body for installation. The width of a frontage and the depth of the base part are smaller than those of the outer frame casing body, and the main body of the casing body has a lower side circumference having a curved shape in the lengthwise direction.
