The connector has a screw wedge element (8) rotated at outer periphery of a hollow-cylindrical connecting piece. The element is provided with a lower opening (8a) and an upper end (8b) that makes a screw wedge connection with a counter element that is arranged at a gun body of a spray gun. The element (8) has a small cross-section at the opening in an axial direction. A stopper element (14) forms an end stop during making the connection, and is arranged in a peripheral direction and at a distance to the upper end. A cavity is formed between the element (14) and the upper end.
