A system and the method for supporting MTP processing at the portable device are provided to perform the processing of database in the multimedia coprocessor and the host processor. The MTP(Media Transfer Protocol) performance instruction is inputted, the multimedia coprocessor(110) produces the database query. The host processor(120) outputs the information as a result of being related to the generated database query. The interface mean(130) delivers the database query or the result information between the multimedia coprocessor and host processor. The multimedia coprocessor performs the MTP processing as the response about the MTP performance instruction by using the information it outputs in the host processor.
