PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the maximum time required till a preview image is displayed, without narrowing the selection width of image quality adjustment.

SOLUTION: An image generation device 120 includes: an image quality parameter reduction object selection unit 123 which selects at least one image quality adjustment content from a plurality of preset image quality adjustment contents; an image quality parameter application unit 125 which applies the image quality adjustment content selected by the image quality parameter reduction object selection unit 123, to given image data to perform image quality adjustment of the image data; and a transmission/reception unit 127 which transmits the image data subjected to the image quality adjustment by the image quality parameter application unit 125, to an image display device. When at least two pieces of the image data subjected to the image quality adjustment by applying the plurality of image quality adjustment contents can be displayed with the same or similar image quality on the image display device, the image quality parameter reduction object selection unit 123 selects only one image quality adjustment content from the image quality adjustment contents applied to the image data.
