PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem that: in a double housing type whip antenna, a second-stage element is formed by spirally winding a plate-like material and made rich in flexibility, so that when the second-stage element is bent by an external force, an elastic spring mounted to a first-stage element disposed in the second-stage element is deformed, thereby decreasing sliding power or making a slide difficult, and the slide is disabled. SOLUTION: A whip antenna device employs a system for increasing the strength of the elastic spring mounted to the first-stage element that slides on the inner surface of the second-stage element that is formed by spirally winding the plate-like material and can be curved, wherein a plurality of large-diameter portions are formed in the elastic spring and the large-diameter portions have projections therein. Even if the second-stage element is curved, the elastic spring positioned therein has projecting portions inside, so that the projecting portions abut on the first-stage element and prevent the plastic deformation of the elastic spring, consequently sliding stability is attained for a long period of time.
