PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a setting apparatus and a setting method of bead core members, by which annular bead core members can be constantly surely and properly made to remain inside a folded part of a carcass ply member. SOLUTION: The setting apparatus of a bead core member is the one for setting a pair of annular bead core members 4 inside the folded part 3 which is formed at both end parts in the axial direction of the cylindrical carcass ply member 2 formed on a tire forming drum 1. The setting apparatus is provided, in the cross section in the axial line direction, with an opening 9 which opens at least in the same distance in the axial line direction as the maximum width distance Lb of the bead core members 4 inward in the radial direction. The setting apparatus is characterized in that it is equipped with a bead holder 5 which can store and hold the bead core members 4 in the opening 9 and with a pressurizing means 10 which, in a state with the bead core members 4 held by the bead holder 5, comes in contact with a face outside in the radial direction of the bead core members 4 and which presses the bead core members 4 inward in the radial direction.
