POSITION LOCATION USING INTEGRATED SERVICE DIGITAL BROADCASTING-TERRESTRIAL (ISDB-T) BROADCASTING TELEVISION SIGNAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the position of a user in accordance with digital television (DTV) broadcasting signals from DTV transmitters. SOLUTION: This method includes: receiving, at a user terminal, DTV broadcasting signals from a plurality of DTV transmitters; determining a pseudorange between the user terminal and the transmitter of each of the broadcasting DTV signals based on a known component contained in the broadcasting DTV signal; and determining the location of the user terminal based on the pseudoranges thus determined and the location of each of the DTV transmitters.
