PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone communication technology by which a message registered in an automatic answering telephone is encrypted and the privacy of a user can be protected. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a telephone system including a calling-side telephone device and a called-side telephone device wherein the calling-side telephone device comprises an encryption means which encrypts an inputted message using an encryption key of a user who becomes a destination to receive the message among called-side users in the case that a called-side telephone set is set to record messages, and a transmission means for transmitting the encrypted message to a called side, and the called-side telephone device includes a recording means for receiving and recording the encrypted message transmitted by the transmission means, and a reproduction means which decrypts the encrypted message recorded in the recording means using a decryption key of one of the called-side users and reproduces the decrypted message.
