PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader with which a successful image is obtained even when there is variation in characteristics of members such as sensitivity of an image sensor. SOLUTION: A light volume correction part 141 lengthens exposure time by reducing scanning speed by an original feeding part 22 or a carriage driving part 48 when a detection result of a CCD 47 is smaller than a specified value.
