PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base board for an organic EL element that improves the yield, through restraining of generation of pulling-in of organic EL materials and through restraining of the problem that all the lines becomes unfit for film-forming, even if pull-in occurs due to impurities on the board. SOLUTION: The base board for the organic EL element at least being equipped with pixel electrodes and striped banks is to be provided with protruding substances between the striped banks.
