PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens barrel for efficiency utilizing a space and achieving cost reduction. SOLUTION: The lens barrel 2 includes: a first holding frame 80 having an opening 81 through which an optical axis L of lenses 52, 82 passes; a second holding frame 50 along the direction of the optical axis L and relatively movable with respect to the first holding frame 80; a cylindrical body 62 provided on at least one of the first and second holding frames 80, 50 and disposed between the first and second holding frame 80, 50; and a detection means 63 provided to the cylindrical body 62 and detecting the relative position of the first and second holding frames 80, 50.
