PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device 10 which can determine the abnormality of an LCD drive circuit 30 even in a configuration that display contents on an LCD panel 40 can not be recognized from an LCD control circuit 20 side. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device 10 is equipped with an LCD drive circuit 30 to allow a display element of the LCD panel 40 to display an image and with an LCD control circuit 20 to control the LCD drive circuit 30 to display an image, wherein the LCD drive circuit 30 includes an output circuit 34 outputting an image signal to display an image on the LCD panel 40 and a booster circuit 36 raising a voltage VDC to be supplied to the output circuit 34 up to an output voltage necessary to output the image signal. The display device is also equipped with a voltage detection circuit 50 detecting a supply voltage supplied from the booster circuit 36 to the output circuit 34. The LCD control circuit 20 includes an initializing circuit 22 initializing the LCD drive circuit 30 based on whether or not the supply voltage VDC detected by the voltage detection circuit 50 is equal to or higher than the output voltage.
