PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser beam shielding film that has good processability in calendering, inflation and extrusion, excellent durability and weather resistance (UV resistance) and can widely absorb light from a near IR ray region to a far IR ray region. SOLUTION: The laser beam shielding film is made of a synthetic resin; the film contains tungsten oxide particles and/or lanthanum hexaboride particles by 1.0 to 18 g/m<SP>2</SP>and exhibits an optical density (OD level) of not less than 2 in a wavelength region from 1,000 to 20,000 nm and a transmittance for visible rays of not less than 30%.
