PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conveying belt having a rib of excellent strength for supporting an object to be conveyed and usable for a long period, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The conveying belt 10 includes a rib 12 and a canvas 18. The canvas 18 covers a surface 12S of the rib 12 and only peripheral parts of first and second boundaries 16, 17. The rib 12 has a shape having the height 12H larger than the maximum thickness 12T. The conveying belt 10 with its surface 12S of the rib 12 only being covered by the canvas 18 is manufactured by forming the rib 12 with its surface 12S being covered by the canvas 18 by using a die, and affixing the rib 12 to a belt body 14.
