<p>One aspect of the invention relates to a device for control of hemorrhage from major blood vessels in acute trauma. The device can be a self sizing expandable/collapsible device placed pereutaneously across the site of injury and fitted with intravascular imaging to allow visualization of positioning without the need tor x-ray equipment or an operating room. The expandable/ collapsible device can be tapered to accommodate a large variance in vessel si^e and can be textured with (reads to prevent movement in high flow vessels. The expandable/collapsible device can be placed at the patient's bedside, provides for vascular control during definitive repair, and can be removed after said repair.</p> |
