<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a softener for paper, which gives flexibility and a good touch feeling to the paper while suppressing the reduction of strength of the paper. <P>SOLUTION: This softener for the paper contains (a) an ester compound prepared from a 12-24C fatty acid and a trivalent to hexavalent polyhydric alcohol and having an esterification rate of 10 to 60%, and (b) a compound expressed by formula (1) [wherein, A is a residue of a 4-12C dicarboxylic acid; R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>5</SP>, R<SP>6</SP>are each a 1-4C alkyl; and R<SP>3</SP>, R<SP>4</SP>are each a 2-4C alkylene] and having a weight ratio (a)/(b) of the ester compound (a) to the compound (b) of (95/5) to (55/45). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
