<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an omnidirectional reflector of narrow band in a visible light electromagnetic range and/or a multilayer structure available for producing omnidirectional structure color. <P>SOLUTION: In the multilayer structure, a first layer formed of an outer surface and a first material having a refractive index of 2-4 spreads on the outer surface of a second layer having a refractive index of 1-3. The multilayer stack has a reflection band of smaller than 200 nm in the view from an angle of 0-80°, and can be used for reflecting a narrow range of electromagnetic radiation in ultraviolet, visible light, and infrared spectral ranges. In some examples, the reflection band of the multilayer structure is smaller than 100 nm. The multilayer structure can have an amount defined as the ratio (%) of range versus mid-range less than 2%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
