<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elongated hook and loop fastening strap with a slip defined therein for securing one or more objects together. <P>SOLUTION: The fastening strap (10, 30, 70) includes an engaging end portion (17, 37, 57, 77), which is disposed generally above the slit (19, 39, 59, 79, 89), and an anchor end portion (18, 38, 58, 78), which is disposed generally below the slit. The engaging end portion is peeled away from a base material to which the anchor end portion is attached, and is wrapped around the objects to be secured. The engaging end portion is then threaded through the slit, and is engaged onto the base materials (100, 300). The engaging shear force between the anchor end portion of the strap and the base material is sufficient to holding the strap to the base material when the engaging end portion is peeled away from the base material, alleviating the need of other bonding methods for securing the strap to the base material, and allowing a user to secure the strap using one hand. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
