<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging system capable of reducing heat generation caused by a plurality of A/D conversion means. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging system includes: a pixel array in which a plurality of pixels are arrayed in a row direction and a column direction; a row selecting means for selecting one of rows; and a reading means which reads and outputs, during a one-line period from the selection of one row to selection of the next row, signals of pixels of columns in at least a part of a plurality of pixels of the row being selected by the row selecting means. The reading means includes a plurality of A/D conversion means provided for each of columns and a transfer means for transferring signals of pixels of respective columns to the A/D conversion means. During the one-line period, power is supplied only to the A/D conversion means to which signals of pixels are inputted by the transfer means and no power is supplied to the A/D conversion means to which signals of pixels are not inputted by the transfer means. The reading means uses the power supplied A/D conversion means to perform A/D conversion on the signals of pixels and outputs a digital image signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
