PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide single sign-on technology capable of physically preventing risk that authentication information is tapped by a third party. SOLUTION: In this user authentication method, an input part 21 that is a user interface of a user authentication device 20 receives input of the authentication information. An authentication processing part 22 of the user authentication device performs authentication processing of a user using a user device 10 configured in another casing by use of the authentication information, generates authentication result information showing an authentication processing result thereof, and outputs the authentication result information. A transmission part 23 of the user authentication device 20 transmits the authentication result information, and the authentication result information is received by a reception part 31 of a target server device 30. A permission part 32 of the target server device having received the authentication result information permits communication of service information between the target server device and the user device.
