PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lever type connector capable of coping with both easy fitting upon temporary fitting and difficult slanting insertion and lessening height of a sliding member and miniaturizing the connector (low profile). SOLUTION: Elastic latch arms 22a, 22b having hanging projections 23a, 23b suspended on driven projections 53 upon temporary fitting with a mating connector 50 are arranged on sliding members 20a, 20b in the lever type connector 1. The elastic latch arms 22a, 22b, which are ends at gates 25a, 25b side of cam grooves 21a, 21b where the driven protrusions 53 are inserted, are formed between a pair of slits 24a, 24a: 24b, 24b extending from designated points A1, A2 opposite to inserting sides of the driven protrusions 53, and elastically deform in a thickness direction of the sliding members 2a, 20b.
