<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet discrimination device capable of preventing a jam of a paper sheet wherein a portion according with an arrangement position of a conveyance body in a width direction of a conveyance path is lost. <P>SOLUTION: This paper sheet discrimination device has: a conveyance means conveying the paper sheet to the downstream side from the upstream side of the conveyance path; a full length detection sensor detecting the passing paper sheet in a detection position set in the conveyance path; an insertion sensor detecting the passing paper sheet in a position on the upstream side of the conveyance path R compared to the detection position, wherein a width direction position of the conveyance path accords with the arrangement position of the conveyance body; and a control means 35 calculating a length of a specific portion of the paper sheet based on a drive amount of the conveyance body to a time point when the insertion sensor detects the rear end of the paper sheet from a time point when the full length detection sensor detects the front end of the paper sheet, calculating the full length of the paper sheet based on a drive amount of the conveyance body to a time point when the full length detection sensor detects the rear end of the paper sheet from the time point when the full length detection sensor detects the front end of the paper sheet, and deciding whether to permit the conveyance of the paper sheet or not from the calculated length of the specific portion and full length. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
