<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film with ultraviolet absorption capability, which is excellent in physical properties and appearance with a minimized content of impurities, and a manufacturing method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the optical film, an ultraviolet absorptive resin is molded by means of melt extrusion by using an extruder 100 including a barrier flight screw 1 or a screw (a) with mixing section, and setting the temperature of a cylinder 10 and a die 14 of the extruder 100 to a temperature below the glass transition temperature of the ultraviolet absorptive resin plus (145)°C.
