<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-room type air conditioner capable of preventing freezing of a heat exchanger while avoiding unnecessary stop with an inexpensive configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The multi-room type air conditioner, equipped with a means for distinguishing an operating indoor machine from a stopping indoor machine, is composed of one outdoor machine 2 comprising a compressor 6, a four-way valve 8 and an outdoor heat exchanger 10 and a plurality of indoor machines 4a, 4b respectively comprising indoor expansion valves 16a, 16b and indoor heat exchangers 14a, 14b. When the indoor machine 4a is determined to be the stopping indoor machine and the indoor machine 4b starts cooling operation, the indoor expansion valve 16a is positioned again according to temperature of the indoor heat exchanger 14a. By improving incomplete closing of the indoor expansion valve 16a due to biting garbage in a coolant pipe 5 and positioning again, freezing of a heat exchanger 14a can be prevented while avoiding the unnecessary stop. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
