PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electric blower which is reduced in a rise in a temperature of a carbon brush, and high in reliability. SOLUTION: The electric blower includes: a rotor 5 in which an armature winding 8 is wound on an armature core 7 and a commutator 9 attached to a shaft 6; a load-side bracket 12 and a load opposite side bracket 11 which hold a stator 2 located at the external periphery of the rotor 5, and rotatably support the rotor 5; an impeller 35 which is attached to an output shaft of the shaft 6, and has a blade; and a casing 37 which covers the impeller 35. The commutator 9 is arranged at the impeller 35 side rather than the armature core 7, the carbon brush 26 for feeding power to the commutator 9 is included in a cylindrical holder 20 whose one end is open, and is arranged in a position opposing the commutator 9, and a ventilation hole 51 is formed at the side face of the impeller 35 side of the holder 20. By this configuration, a rise in the temperature of the carbon brush 26 can be reduced and carbon powder deposition into the holder 20 can be suppressed, so that the inexpensive and high-reliability electric blower can be provided.
