PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform stable communication without data demodulation error caused by the influence of inter-signal skew, in two-wire type data communication for performing data communication and clock and power supply, through first and second signal lines, between a control device and a data storage device. SOLUTION: A control device transmits a forward-phase clock pulse as a first transmission signal (a) and, when transmitting a backward-phase clock pulse as a second transmission signal (b), transmits the backward-phase clock pulse after modulating it so that "H" pulse of the second transmission signal may become a signal advanced only by a time td1 when transmission data are logic "1" or advanced only a time td2 when the transmission data are logic "0", with respect to an L pulse of the first transmission signal. In a data carrier device, a clock extracted from the first transmission signal is used to detect a change in the delay time of the second transmission signal, thereby performing data demodulation (e).
