PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital audio player and a selection method for a karaoke musical piece, allowing a user to easily reserve a performance of a karaoke musical piece coinciding with a daily heard musical piece by editing and recording it to a digital audio player. SOLUTION: This digital audio player (DAP) 1 includes: a reproducing means for reproducing musical data recorded in a recording medium or a recording element; a reproduction specifying means for specifying reproduction of musical data; a display means for reading tag information added to the musical data and displaying a menu of the respective items of the tag information in order; and a tag information selection means for selecting a desired tag information item from the tag information item contents displayed in a menu by the display means, wherein the player further includes a tag information setting means for presetting the tag information selected by the tag information select means as tag information to be transferred to a karaoke device 3.
