PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold sensor capable of mounting the direction of a detection axis changed by 90 degrees, by means of an existing sensor having the detection axis set only in a specified direction, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The mold sensor includes a substrate 11 and a sensor 30 horizontally connected with the substrate and having an external terminal on its bottom for detecting a physical amount that varies in a specific axial direction and has a resin mold part 13 that covers the sensor mounted on the substrate; and a mounting terminal 22, formed by cutting a conductive member 24, is provided so as to be exposed on a side face of the substrate or in the same plane as the side face of the substrate.
